POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating a point-of-sale register to sell merchandise and green fees. The attendant provides excellent guest service in all sales transactions, while also greeting guests and answering calls. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Pro Shop Manager and is subject to review through inspection, discussion, and the reaction and comments of those who use the facilities of the golf course.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicates with guests to assist in purchasing decisions. Provides outstanding customer service and engages in suggestive selling initiatives. Ensures the daily operation of the pro shop outlet adheres to operating procedure guidelines. Assists in merchandising functions including display and store design, inventory receiving, stocking, and merchandise pricing. Performs cash-handling functions, including point-of-sale (POS) system, registers, and daily reporting. Ensures retail outlet adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service. Responsible for attentive and friendly customer service throughout the Pro-Shop, accurately ringing up charges at the register and properly checking in all golfers prior to play. Focus attention on guests' needs while always remaining professional and courteous while working under pressure. Responsible for maintaining inventory and organization of storage and display areas while properly rotating merchandise as necessary. Maintain inventory levels of consistently stocked item Respond to inquiries; both in person and over the phone. Focus attention on guest needs while remaining professional and courteous at all times, even when under pressure. Performs opening and closing functions of the pro shop while following guidelines and procedures established by the course. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the work environment. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment. Responsible for ensuring all daily assignments are completed in their respective areas. Reports any suspicious activity on the golf course to the Pro Shop Manager.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Physical factors include constant standing, walking, reaching, hearing, smell, and near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision. Frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions. Working conditions include constant exposure to noise. Potential hazards include working with client contact; frequent equipment use. Ability to stand, kneel, and bend over for 6-8 hours.REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.Experience:
Minimum one year of experience operating point-of-sale (POS) required. Experience working at a golf course is preferred.Certification/License:
Must maintain good moral character standing.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to work independently. Must be able to deal effectively with the public. Must be able to prioritize work duties to accommodate the facility. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, in writing, by telephone, and by email. Must be able to promote good public relations in a cooperative, productive working environment. Must be able to respond to difficult and stressful situations in an efficient, effective, and positive manner. Knowledge of opening/closing cash registers is required. Knowledge of cash handling procedures is also needed. Excellent listening and communication skills are required. Must have excellent public relations/customer service skills and be able to exhibit a friendly and positive attitude. Must be able to establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and guests.
