Entry Level Sign Estimator

Position Overview The Estimators at SignCrafters are responsible for generating accurate cost estimates for signage projects by analyzing specs, drawings, and related documents. This includes assessing material, labor, and time requirements while working closely with the project manager, manufacturing, and design teams. As key contributors to budget control, the estimators ensure profitability, accuracy, and efficiency across all project proposals.

Key Responsibilities Project Estimation and Cost Analysis:

Develop comprehensive cost estimates for sign projects, including materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment. Interpret project specifications and technical drawing to produce competitive and profitable bids.

Collaboration and Communication:

Coordinate with the project managers, design department, and manufacturing departments to ensure accuracy of scope, feasibility of execution, and alignment with client expectations. Communicate with the Director of Manufacturing for pricing and lead times.

Process Improvement and Documentation:

Maintain and refine estimating processes and templates to improve accuracy. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing production methods. Leadership Expectations While not a direct leadership position, the Estimators play a vital strategic role at SignCrafters. This position must demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure. The Estimators are expected to contribute to a collaborative and detail-oriented environment, helping the team move toward successful project planning and execution. Experience in sign, construction, or manufacturing estimating preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with design programs, spreadsheets, and reading technical drawings. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
