Data Center Technician Opportunities Position Types:
Entry-Level Technician & Lead Technician Job Type:
Long-Term Contract (Strong potential to convert to full-time) TEKsystems is hiring Entry-Level and Lead Data Center Technicians to support structured cabling and fiber installations in mission-critical environments. These roles are ideal for hardworking individuals looking to grow their careers in low-voltage and data center infrastructure with a company that promotes from within. Entry-Level Technician Key Responsibilities Pull and route fiber throughout data center environments Assemble, stack, and drill equipment racks Scan, label, and port equipment Support general installation tasks under the direction of experienced technicians Maintain jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety standards Required Attributes Experience working in physically demanding environments (construction, trades, military, or similar) Strong work ethic with a positive, team-first attitude Reliable attendance and punctuality Hands-on electrical or military experience is highly valued Ability to work on ladders and lifts Lead Technician Key Responsibilities Pull and route fiber cable; perform fiber testing and troubleshooting (Fluke/OTDR) Plan daily work, delegate tasks, and lead execution onsite Scan, label, photograph, and port equipment accurately Complete documentation including QC/QA checks and cut sheets Support training and development of junior technicians Required Experience Strong experience in structured cabling and fiber installation Experience leading crews or projects in construction or low-voltage environments Comfortable taking ownership of quality, documentation, and timelines Skills (Both Roles) Structured Cabling Cable Installation / Cable Pulling Fiber Optic Cable Installation & Testing Low Voltage Systems Construction & Installation Practices What We're Looking For Hard worker who wants to grow with an organization Honest, reliable, and accountable Interested in leadership opportunities and long-term career advancement Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chantilly, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
