Environmental Campaigner Student PIRGs Amherst, Massachusetts Job Type Permanent
Salary The target annual compensation range for this position is $38,250

- 1 year Become a Campus Organizer As a Campus Organizer, you'll be at the forefront of building a brighter future for all of us
- protecting our remaining wildlife and wild places, tackling the plastic waste crisis, eliminating electronic waste and ending planned obsolescence, and more.
Key responsibilities include:
Recruiting and inspiring hundreds of students to take action. Helping students run strategic campaigns. Campus organizers will recruit and train students to run campaigns such as eliminating single-use plastics, protecting wildlife and special places, making college more affordable, and more. Building a coalition. Campus organizers work with student volunteers and interns to build a diverse, invested coalition of organizations. Training students to be effective social change leaders, using skills such as generating grassroots support and coordinating lobby days and news conferences. Building a strong, sustainable, student-funded and student-run organization on campus by fundraising, building relationships with key players on campus, and building our organizational brand. Running a citizen outreach office during the summer, where you'll recruit and lead a team of canvassers to fundraise for important issues and help build critical, timely grassroots support to win key campaigns. You may be assigned to a different office location for the summer and should be flexible to move. Build the movement by recruiting volunteers, interns, and more organizers to work with us. This position requires exercising discretion and independent judgment in making decisions in matters of significance. Qualifications We're looking for candidates who Have a demonstrated commitment to environmental, public interest and/or student issues, and a track record of leadership. Are goal-driven and results-oriented. Have excellent communication skills. Are driven, work well with all kinds of people, and aren't afraid to get outside their comfort zones. Are passionate about making positive change. Change takes time, and is often incremental; we're looking for people who are excited to work hard every day, even if it's just for one small step in the right direction. Compensation and Benefits The target annual compensation range for this position is $38,250- $44,450 and depends on location, education and experience.
