Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to oversee safety protocols and compliance for our Main Bearing & Blade Exchange Project located in Snyder, Texas . The EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Advisor is responsible for supporting safe execution of wind turbine main bearing and blade exchange activities by promoting a Zero Harm culture and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards, client requirements, and company procedures. The EHS Advisor will coach, advise, inspect, and train project personnel to proactively identify and control risks associated with heavy lifts, work at height, confined space activities, electrical/mechanical isolation, and turbine maintenance operations. Key Responsibilities Promote and reinforce the company's Zero Harm safety culture throughout all project activities. Provide daily EHS coaching and guidance to technicians, subcontractors, supervisors, and site management. Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and field observations to ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards. Verify implementation and effectiveness of critical risk controls for: Work at height Heavy lifting and crane operations Main bearing exchange activities Blade exchange operations Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Electrical and mechanical isolation Dropped object prevention Confined space entry Participate in pre-job planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), toolbox talks, and risk assessments. Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking. Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems and safe work procedures. Deliver EHS orientations, training sessions, and safety briefings to project personnel. Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified. Maintain accurate EHS documentation, inspection records, and daily/weekly reports. Coordinate with client representatives and project leadership regarding EHS performance and improvement opportunities. Support emergency response preparedness and drills. Ensure proper use, inspection, and maintenance of PPE and fall protection equipment. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of EHS experience in wind energy, heavy industrial, construction, or similar high-risk environments. Previous experience supporting wind turbine major component exchanges preferred (main bearing, blade, gearbox, or generator exchanges). Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices related to: Work at height Rigging and lifting operations Electrical safety Confined space Hazard communication Incident investigation Strong understanding of risk assessment and hazard mitigation processes. Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing wind turbines and working at heights. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems. Required Certifications
OSHA 30 GWO BST / GWO
Advanced Rescue Preferred Certifications First Aid / CPR / AED Fall Protection Competent Person Confined Space Competent Person Crane & Rigging Awareness Incident Investigation Training Work Environment Wind farm construction and maintenance environment. Extensive field presence required. Ability to travel and work rotational schedules as required by the project. Must be capable of climbing wind turbines and working in varying weather conditions. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Project EHS Manager or Site Manager and works closely with project supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and client representatives. Objective Ensure all main bearing and blade exchange activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company, client, and regulatory EHS requirements while fostering a proactive Zero Harm culture.
Pay:
$45.00 - $60.00 per hour
