Cibolo, TX Position Summary The Safety and Security Manager, reporting to the Administration General Manager, is a knowledgeable resolute professional responsible for ensuring a safe and secure work environment. This role involves providing leadership in environmental, health, safety (EHS) and security, utilizing risk methodologies, managing security controls, and overseeing compliance with EHS regulations. The manager will support the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures and physical security infrastructure in a fast-paced automotive parts manufacturing environment. Position Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Function as the company's Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME); advise top management on all safety-related, including occupational injury reporting, tracking, and investigations. Manage company Safety and Security budget; analyze variances between budget vs actual results to recommend effective cost savings measures. Lead company safety compliance audits and inspections; interact with internal and external auditors. Promote a safe work environment for team members, emphasizing the use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices. Create incident reporting policy and procedures and assist manufacturing leadership in creating effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence. Review existing policies and procedures, recommend revisions based on updates to federal, state, and local regulations. Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Develop and implement company's physical security infrastructure; promote a safe and secure work environment. Provide security team leadership by utilizing risk methodologies and assessments to identify areas for continuous improvement. Manage outsourced security guards' operations. Develop, implement, and manage Crisis Management Plan. Company Emergency Response liaison; interact with outside law enforcement and emergency management agencies in accordance with the company Emergency Action Plan. Manage company waste management program; investigates environmental incidents and develop action plan(s) to prevent reoccurrence. Manage company on-site clinic staff and operations; ensure clinic maintains a readiness state to respond to occupational and medical emergencies that occur. Develop and implement clinic policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency. Analyze and report clinic performance metrics to senior management. Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years of management experience overseeing 100 or more employees. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required. Minimum 3 years of related security experience and at least 1 year of experience in safety-related duties. Beneficial Skills and Experience Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to create documents, graphs, and databases using basic functions. Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Initiative-taking and self-directing. Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Safety & Health Management, Environmental Studies, Industrial Hygiene, Security Management) required. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred. OSHA 10 or 30, HAZMAT handling processes. CPR and AED certification are a plus. Travel Requirements Approximately 0% Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs. Work Environment Requirements With reasonable accommodation: Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality. Must be able to operate as an effective team member. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies. Attendance/Work Hour Requirements Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
