Environmental Technician

Environmental Technician opening with a national environmental consulting firm's Danville, IN location. Entry-level position with good training and opportunity for advancement to Test Engineer I ($26.00/Hour starting) within first 6-to-12 months. Candidates must be comfortable with regional travel (most sites are in IN and OH) and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

Perform air emissions testing and monitoring services at a variety of industrial facilities. Record and analyze data, collect samples. Transport and set up testing equipment using a company vehicle; dismantle equipment post-testing. Calibrate testing equipment and assist engineers in conducting air quality testing procedures. Adhere to environmental, health, and safety protocols. Organize and prepare equipment for upcoming projects. Gain proficiency in EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field is preferred. Previous experience working in a field-based / hands-on role. Experience using scientific instruments to run tests, collect samples and record data. Team player with strong initiative Ability to travel during the work week Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Project Manager. Company vehicle provided for travel. All travel time, expenses, lodging + additional $72 per diem are paid by company. Typical travel projects require 2-to-5 days out of town during the standard work week, Monday-Friday. Frequent overtime earned when working in the field, paid at 1.5x rate.
