Equipment Operator

Equipment Operator Georgetown, DE 19947 Full-time Full-time Bay Line Construction, LLC is seeking to hire an Underground Equipment Operator. Bay Line Construction, LLC is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground electrical distribution. Bay Line Construction, LLC also provides transmission, substation, lighting, and industrial/commercial services. Description of general duties, but not limited to: URD Equipment Operators are responsible for operating equipment used in the excavation, construction, and maintenance of underground utilities. Responsibilities may include preparing materials and equipment for the assigned job; ensuring safety standards are adhered to; and performing duties of lower classifications to assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical power systems. URD Equipment Operators must comply with all OSHA safety regulations, frequently working in precarious conditions. URD Equipment Operators report to the crew foreman assigned to their crew.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for operating equipment/machinery for excavating or installing conduit, cables or electrical equipment Will assist crew with placing conduit and/or cables in trenches, splicing conduit sections (install couplers) as directed, pedestals, transformers, etc. to complete construction tasks. Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment, materials and supplies needed for daily work. Hand dig with shovels, picks, digging bars to expose located utilities, access U/G vaults and pedestals, and complete trenches. Fully restore worksites at completion of work, refill trenches and holes, tamp soil, replant any plants or shrubs that were disturbed during our construction, place temporary asphalt patches on streets where excavations have been performed. Clean and maintain all company vehicles, tools and equipment assigned for use. Other duties may be assigned consistent with job description
