RBT's are paid on the Paraprofessional Salary Scale at the Class 1 rate. Please see the salary scale at this link: https://www.irsd.net/departments/human-resources/salary-scales Registered Behavior Technicians provide individualized services in a 1:1 teaching format to students in need of intense behavior supports. What you'll do: Work 1:1 with a student by applying and implementing behavior analytical techniques that increase communication, self-help, and social/play skills. Utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent modification to increase appropriate behaviors over time. Use the appropriate/prescribed ratio of reinforcement. Maintain accurate records of student's performance/progress via data collection through an online and paper data collection system. Manage any inappropriate behaviors that occur. Keep student motivated to learn through preference assessments. Communicate confidentially and professionally. Incorporate feedback from parents or district staff into the student's plan. Report concerns directly and promptly to your supervisor. Model and support effective positive reinforcement and antecedent modifications to parents and school staff. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required for this position: Working knowledge of basic technology and district specific software programs Ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to move freely, quickly and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position Have a basic knowledge of Special Education policies/procedures and how to effectively address behavior issues of students with special needs Ability to travel from school to school if necessary for student support Minimum Qualifications for this position: Registered Behavior Technician Certification Required Prior Experience as a Behavior Technician, Special Education paraprofessional Strongly Preferred Completion of at least 60 semester hours of college coursework or satisfactory test scores on the Para-Pro/Para Pathways Exam- Associate Degree preferred Clean Criminal Background Check, TB test and Child Protection registry clearance must be completed prior to start of employment.
