Job Description

Equipment Operator / Foreman Electric Light Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator / Foreman to join our growing team. We specialize in traffic signal systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and roadway lighting installation and maintenance throughout Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who takes pride in safe, high-quality work and enjoys leading crews in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, digger derricks, vac trucks, and dump trucks Lead and supervise field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule Coordinate daily construction activities including site preparation, conduit installation, grading, material handling, and foundation work Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure operational reliability and safety compliance Promote and enforce company safety standards and environmental regulations on all job sites Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and crew members regarding project progress and scheduling Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance records, and daily operational reports Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues and coordinating repairs when needed Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment in a utility or roadway construction environment Experience with conduit installation, pull boxes, precast foundations, and mast arm foundations preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and maintain productivity Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record preferred Experience operating cranes and heavy trucks is highly desirable Familiarity with Kubota excavators or similar equipment is a plus Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship Preferred Certifications Valid Class
