The ESOL Coordinator is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Director of Curriculum and Student Support, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount. All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Provide leadership to the ESOL department in the development, coordination, and support of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning, as well as management of ESOL program processes and procedures. Coordinates district wide activities, disseminating and receiving information related to EL language development, planning, and implementing parent engagement activities and/or community events. Serves as the liaison between the local schools and District support staff.Working Conditions:

Must hold a minimum of a Georgia SRL-5 certificate in Educational Leadership or be eligible for an NPL certificate; ESOL Endorsement required Minimum of five (5) years of teaching English Learners is preferred Strong background in ESOL instructional practices Experience with leading and/or facilitating groups Good oral and written communication skills The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.Essential Functions:
Demonstrate and model effective teaching and lead/facilitate professional learning related to ELs. Train district staff in areas related to ELs such as SIOP, co-teaching, language development and WIDA Standards. Coach content teachers and ESOL teachers in differentiating instruction for Els. Coordinate with ESOL teachers to develop and redeliver professional learning related to ELs at the school level. Initiate, plan, organize and provide professional development training for school leaders and teachers. Review district test data and survey data to design and implement professional learning related to ELs. Maintain Federal Program required paperwork and documentation consistently, appropriately, and in a timely manner. Develop professional learning opportunities related to school improvement plans regarding ELs. Communicate effectively with students, parents or guardians, district and school personnel, and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning as it relates to the ESOL program. Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments to support Title III and ESOL activities. Exhibit best practices based on current research and Federal/State/District guidance as it relates to ESOL and Title III. Carry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established state and local School Board policies, regulations, and practices. Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position. Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular and punctual manner. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee Applicants will be selected for interview.
