Until Filled Job summary : To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams, contribute to community, and engage in a lifetime of learning by performing clerical tasks that facilitate access to English Learner (EL) programming for multilingual students and families.Responsibilities and tasks include:
Communicate with multilingual families to gather information and schedule appointments; use interpreters as needed. Complete requests by promptly greeting visitors in person or on the telephone; answer or refer inquiries as needed. Coordinate assessment schedule for EL intake facilitators. Prepare information by word processing/data entry/typing. Enter data into spreadsheets and/or databases. Distribute information by receiving, sorting, distributing, and preparing incoming and outgoing mail and faxes. Provide information by copying, assembling, sorting, and distributing applicable forms and documents. Maintain departmental integrity by verifying completeness and accuracy of departmental forms. Provide reference by maintaining filing systems and storing documents. Maintain knowledge of department by participating in English Learner (EL) department and Enrollment Center team meetings. Order/request office supplies as needed; maintain inventory of resources in the EL office. Contribute to team effort by assisting the EL team and Enrollment Center work as needed. Demonstrate consistently through actions and words a commitment to the district's mission and core values.Minimum qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: Communicating effectively in verbal and written formats Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and email Data entry and record keeping skills Ability to collaborate effectively Organizing and managing time effectively Preferred qualifications include: Bilingual/Multilingual proficiency preferred Experience working with diverse populations and interpretersSalary:
Classification 1 on the Educational Support Professionals Contract Salary Schedule Work schedule: 3 hours/day; 5 days/week; 10 months a yearJob Type or FTE:
