Job Description

Summary:
We are representing a leading mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Bay Area team.

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the estimating process, from plan/spec review to subcontractor negotiations, and contract review post-award. The Senior Estimator will lead estimating efforts on large-scale mechanical and plumbing projects, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure accurate proposals and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee completion of mechanical and plumbing proposals, including equipment and subcontractor solicitations Perform and supervise quantity take-offs, labor estimates, and pricing Provide technical input and alternatives for design solutions based on industry knowledge Lead proposal efforts for plan/spec, design assist, and design build projects Build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships Review contracts on awarded projects to ensure proper scope, exclusions, and clarifications Mentor junior estimators and lead hand-off meetings for awarded projects Collaborate with operations to ensure bid completeness and accuracy Identify and solicit qualified subcontractors/suppliers, reviewing quotes for scope compliance Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and provide budgets as required
Qualifications:
7+ years of estimating experience in mechanical and plumbing projects Proven ability to manage complex bids and lead estimating teams Strong communication and client-facing skills with ability to represent the company professionally Proficiency in estimating and project management software; strong MS Office skills Ability to manage multiple bids, meet deadlines, and prepare clear, organized reports Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred Compensation +
