Excavation / Construction Laborer

Overview Xact Excavating LLC is a trusted local family-owned excavation company covering all your dirt work needs from residential, commerical, and municipality work. We call Olivet, Michigan home, but happily serve greater Mid-Michigan and the surrounding areas. Xact Excavating is looking for a versatile, hard-working, and experienced individual to join our team! In this energetic role, you may operate a variety of heavy machinery, assist with construction tasks (i.e. laying pipe), and ensure safety and efficiency on-site. Your expertise will help drive projects forward all while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical skills and construction experience in a fast-paced setting. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers (dozers), loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling machines, and paving machinery with precision and safety. Assist with site preparation, pipe laying, grading, excavation, and material movement to support construction projects. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met. Support various construction activities including paving, water line installation, grading, and horizontal drilling operations. Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members. Collaborate with project managers and crew members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and job site activities. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling machinery. Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment on commercial or construction sites. Bonus if you have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience driving large vehicles like dump trucks. Skilled laborer and in excavator operation and other heavy machinery operation techniques. Knowledge of construction site safety practices and ability to adhere to OSHA standards. Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Familiarity with construction processes including paving, grading, and water line installation. Pay:

$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
