Make an impact leading a dynamic YMCA branch focused on community partnerships, innovation, and meaningful member experiences. Job Description Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Executive Director of the Speer YMCA provides strategic and operational leadership for one of the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg's flagship branches. This position is responsible for all aspects of branch operations, including membership, programs, staff leadership, financial management, community engagement, volunteer development, and fundraising. The Executive Director also serves as a key partner with Mangrove Bay Middle School in supporting the successful operation of this unique shared-use facility and 19-acre campus. This role requires a collaborative leader who can build strong relationships, lead high-performing teams, and drive innovative programs and community impact. The ideal candidate will have experience leading complex operations, managing community partnerships, and creating a strong culture focused on member experience, staff engagement, and operational excellence. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Recreation, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and supervisory experience in operations, program management, or nonprofit leadership. Previous YMCA leadership experience strongly preferred. Branch Executive or multi-department leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated experience leading complex operations and managing multiple program areas, including aquatics, wellness, youth programs, sports, camps, and community partnerships. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and operational oversight. Proven success in staff leadership, team development, and employee engagement. Experience in fundraising, volunteer development, and community relationship management. Ability to build strong collaborative partnerships and effectively work with community stakeholders, school partners, volunteers, and civic leaders. Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Passionate commitment to the YMCA mission, values, and the communities we serve. Essential Functions Provides leadership and direction for all branch operations in alignment with the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg's mission, strategic priorities, policies, and standards. Leads and manages branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and achievement of revenue goals. Drives membership growth, member engagement, and program expansion while ensuring a high-quality member experience. Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that meet community needs and support association objectives. Partners with the Mangrove Bay Middle School Principal and Campus Oversight Team to coordinate operations, activities, and shared campus initiatives. Recruits, develops, and leads a high-performing leadership team and branch staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provides leadership for staff development, succession planning, employee engagement, and volunteer involvement. Leads annual fundraising efforts, including the Annual Support Campaign, donor stewardship, and community relationship development. Builds and develops a strong Branch Council that actively supports the YMCA's mission, strategic goals, and community presence. Represents the YMCA within the community and develops collaborative relationships with businesses, civic organizations, schools, and community partners. Ensures the branch operates in compliance with all YMCA policies, safety standards, risk management practices, and licensing requirements. Serves as a member of the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Operations Team and contributes to association-wide initiatives and strategic objectives.
