Job Description
Position Summary The Executive Director of Advancement is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing a strong fundraising strategy to support the mission and strategic goals of the college. This individual will lead the advancement team, cultivate relationships with donors, and drive philanthropic initiatives to enhance institutional growth and sustainability. On-Campus presence required Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to increase philanthropic support through major gifts, planned giving, and annual giving campaigns.
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, and key stakeholders to strengthen engagement and financial contributions.
- Oversee and coordinate capital campaigns and special fundraising projects.
- Partner with the President, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership to align fundraising efforts with institutional priorities.
- Lead and mentor the advancement team, setting clear goals and ensuring accountability in meeting fundraising objectives.
- Develop and execute donor stewardship strategies to enhance engagement and long-term support.
- Manage the advancement office budget and ensure effective allocation of resources to maximize impact.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making and fundraising analytics to assess effectiveness and refine strategies.
- Represent the college at events, meetings, and conferences to enhance visibility and community engagement. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in advancement, fundraising, or related fields, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and managing donor relationships.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the college's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
- Ideally experience in campaign planning, donor cultivation, and/or stewardship.
- Proficiency in fundraising software, CRM systems, and data analysis tools.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the mission of higher education. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education or private independent school advancement or nonprofit leadership.
- Familiarity with planned giving strategies.
- An ability to work with a wide range of people with different needs regarding their ability and desire to make a gift.
Pay:
