Biblecitychurch.org Position Summary The Volunteer Executive Pastor serves as a key member of the church's executive leadership team, providing spiritual oversight and strategic direction across all areas of ministry. As part of a new church plant, this individual plays a foundational role in building a healthy, thriving church culture from the ground up. This person works in close collaboration with fellow executive leaders to ensure the church is faithfully and effectively stewarded in alignment with its mission, vision, and values. The Volunteer Executive Pastor is a servant leader committed to equipping and empowering others for the work of the ministry. Roles & Responsibilities Ministry Oversight Oversee all aspects of ministry operations in collaboration with the executive leadership team. Ensure all ministry departments and initiatives are aligned with the church's vision and mission. Provide consistent spiritual direction and accountability across all ministry areas. Identify gaps in ministry coverage and work with the team to address them proactively. Leadership Development Provide oversight, guidance, and support to all leaders and pastors within the church. Cultivate a culture of discipleship, growth, and accountability among ministry leaders. Conduct regular check ins and evaluations to assess the health and effectiveness of ministry leaders. Mentor and invest in emerging leaders to build a strong leadership pipeline. Executive Collaboration Participate actively in executive team meetings, strategic planning, and decision making processes. Serve as a liaison between ministry teams and the executive leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment. Collaborate with other executive leaders to steward church resources financial, human, and physical responsibly. Support the Senior Pastor and Elder Board in carrying out the overall vision of the church. Church Plant Participation Maintain consistent attendance at all church events, services, gatherings, and leadership meetings. Actively participate in the life of the church plant as a visible, engaged, and accessible leader. Support special events including outreach initiatives, volunteer training days, launch events, and community gatherings. Model commitment and presence that inspires the same in other leaders and congregation members. Teaching & Preaching Fulfill occasional teaching responsibilities during weekend services, special events, or ministry gatherings. Prepare and deliver biblically sound, contextually relevant messages consistent with the church's theological convictions. Support the teaching team by contributing to curriculum planning and message series development as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Required Demonstrated previous ministry experience in a leadership or pastoral capacity. A genuine passion for ministry and a clear sense of calling to serve the local church. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team leadership environment. Committed follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle consistent with biblical standards of integrity. Agreement with the church's statement of faith, vision, and core values. Preferred Formal theological training (Bible college, seminary, or equivalent ministry education). Experience in a multi-staff or multi-site church environment. Background in organizational leadership, team development, or strategic planning. Experience in public speaking or preaching. Character & Spiritual Life Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit and lives a life worthy of the calling (Ephesians 4:1). Actively engaged in personal spiritual disciplines prayer, Scripture, worship, and community. Humble, teachable, and open to accountability from church leadership. Models servant leadership in all areas of life and ministry. This is a volunteer position. All candidates will be subject to an interview process and reference checks by the Executive Leadership Team.Job Type:
