Job Description

The Sacajawea Hotel is growing, evolving, and entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership — and we're looking for an Executive Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team into a busy and rewarding season ahead. This is an opportunity for a motivated culinary professional to step into a leadership role at one of Montana's most iconic historic properties. From elevated dining service to weddings, banquets, community events, and seasonal celebrations, no two days look the same here. We're building something special: a team-focused culture, a strong food program, and a guest experience centered around hospitality, creativity, and consistency. What You'll Do Working closely with ownership, the Executive Chef, and management, the Executive Sous Chef will play a key role in day-to-day kitchen leadership and execution.
Responsibilities include:
Leading kitchen operations during service Supporting and managing line cooks and prep staff Assisting with banquet and event execution Maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation standards Helping oversee prep, inventory, ordering, and scheduling Upholding sanitation and food safety standards Training and mentoring kitchen team members Contributing ideas for menu development, specials, and operational improvements What We're Looking For Previous kitchen leadership experience preferred Strong cooking skills and ability to lead by example Calm, organized, and efficient under pressure Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills Flexibility and willingness to jump in wherever needed Experience with banquets, catering, or high-volume service is a plus Why Join Us? Pay:
$58,890.90 - $70,922.38 per year
