Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Optician to join our dynamic healthcare team! As an Experience Optician, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services, assisting patients with their eyewear needs, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your expertise in optical products, medical terminology, and clinic procedures will help us provide top-tier service while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their prescription, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences, ensuring optimal comfort and vision correction. Conduct comprehensive eye examinations by measuring vital signs, assessing visual acuity. Operate EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. Provide laboratory experience by fitting lenses, adjusting frames, and performing aseptic techniques during optical procedures. Educate patients on proper eyewear care, medication instructions, and the importance of regular eye exams, especially for pediatrics and senior care populations. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals in clinics specializing in ophthalmology or general medicine to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements Proven experience as an Optician or in a related optical or clinic setting with strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic and medical records management. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing practices, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and confidentiality. Laboratory experience with lens fitting, frame adjustments, and aseptic techniques. Ability to interpret medical coding related to ophthalmology procedures and billing processes. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy related to the eye, vital signs measurement, and pediatric or senior patient needs. Retail sales experience combined with retail math skills to manage inventory and sales transactions effectively. Excellent communication skills for explaining complex medical information clearly to patients of all ages.
