The ideal candidate has a warm personality, enjoys interacting with people, and helps create a welcoming environment for every patient who walks through the door. This position plays an important role in ensuring smooth daily operations while providing excellent patient service in a busy medical office setting. Responsibilities Welcome and check in patients while providing a positive and professional first impression Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments using the Practice Fusion system Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information including phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing details Answer incoming calls, assist with patient questions, and route calls to appropriate staff when needed Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is properly entered into the system Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy Assist with referral coordination and communication with outside providers Complete administrative tasks including scanning, faxing, and organizing documents Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office required (urgent care, primary care, or similar clinical setting preferred) Insurance verification, including confirming eligibility, benefits, and coverage details Familiarity with medical terminology and common office procedures Experience using Practice Fusion or similar EHR/practice management systems preferred Strong customer service and patient interaction skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Experience with insurance verification and basic billing processes is a plus Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately when needed Reliable attendance and punctuality Comfortable interacting professionally with patients from diverse backgrounds Willingness to learn new systems and clinic procedures Ability to work collaboratively with providers and healthcare staffAdditional InformationPlease note that this description is intended to outline the general nature of the role.
