Experienced Apartment Leasing Consultant

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Apartment Leasing Consultant to join our property management team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in property leasing, customer service, and legal administrative procedures will ensure a seamless experience for applicants while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 programs. Responsibilities Greet prospective residents warmly, providing comprehensive tours of available apartments and community amenities to generate interest and close leases effectively. Manage the entire leasing process from initial inquiry through application approval, including data entry into Yardi or OneSite property management systems. Ensure all lease agreements, contracts, and legal documentation are accurately prepared, reviewed, and filed in accordance with legal standards and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law to ensure compliance across all leasing activities. Conduct thorough tenant screening processes, including background checks, credit reports, and references, while upholding fair housing practices. Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette; upsell additional community services or amenities when appropriate. Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate property upkeep and address resident concerns promptly; assist with property maintenance scheduling as needed. Manage conflict resolution between residents or prospective tenants effectively while maintaining a positive community atmosphere. Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, preparing lease renewals, and maintaining accurate records within property management software like Yardi or OneSite. Requirements Proven experience in property leasing, property management, or real estate administrative roles; prior experience with LIHTC programs is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 housing programs, and legal administrative procedures related to leasing. Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software; familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective negotiation and conflict management abilities. Office experience including data entry, filing systems, contracts preparation, and general administrative support. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating professionalism with phone etiquette and client interactions. Knowledge of facilities management principles related to property maintenance and tenant safety standards.
