Experienced Bread Baker - Groundswell Cafe

Job Summary Groundswell Cafe + Bakery is seeking a passionate and skilled Bread Baker to join our dynamic culinary team! In this role, you will be responsible for creating high-quality bread and baked goods that delight our customers. Your expertise in baking, food preparation, and food handling will ensure every product meets our standards of freshness, flavor, and presentation. Duties Prepare and bake a variety of bread, rolls, and baked goods using traditional and innovative techniques Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance Decorate cakes and pastries with creative designs to enhance visual appeal Package baked items efficiently for retail display or catering orders while maintaining food safety standards Assist with food production tasks such as mixing, kneading, proofing, and oven management Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station in compliance with health and safety regulations Support food preparation for catering events or restaurant service as needed Handle customer inquiries about baked goods with friendly, knowledgeable service Qualifications Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field with a focus on bread making Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices Experience with cake decorating and pastry presentation is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent customer service skills to engage with clients and team members effectively Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn Passion for baking, culinary arts, and continuous skill development Join us as a Bread Baker and bring your creativity and expertise to craft delicious baked goods that inspire smiles!
