Rotair Aerospace is a family-owned, well-established helicopter spare parts manufacturer based in southern Fairfield County for over 50 years. Position Summary This position is responsible for actively managing and expediting helicopter spare parts, materials, and outside processing services to ensure on-time completion and delivery to our customers. The External Expeditor serves as a critical link between Purchasing, Planning, Quality, Production, and outside vendors to help maintain production flow and resolve delays quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, persistent, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can shift quickly. Key Responsibilities Obtain and maintain status updates for all open purchase orders and outside processing operations. Communicate regularly with vendors via phone, email, and occasional in-person visits to ensure timely delivery commitments are met. Expedite parts, materials, and outside services to support production schedules and customer requirements. Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to review urgent priorities, late orders, shortages, and production-impacting issues. Coordinate with Planning, Quality Assurance, Inspection, Assembly, and Shipping departments regarding part status and priorities. Collaborate with the Internal Expeditor and QA department to schedule in-process inspections and maintain workflow continuity. Update ERP system with accurate notes, delivery dates, status updates, and follow-up activity. Identify recurring supplier delays or process issues and assist in developing corrective actions or process improvements. Participate in production meetings and priority review discussions as needed. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and outside service providers. Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, purchasing, expediting, production control, or supply chain coordination preferred. Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through consistently. Excellent communication and follow-up skills. Comfortable making frequent vendor follow-up calls and handling time-sensitive situations professionally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments. Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. Willingness to undergo pre-employment assessments, drug screening, and background checks.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM, with potential overtime as needed.
Compensation:
Starting salary: $22.00
  • $25.
00 per hour, and increases commensurate with experience.
