Job Description
Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role as a Registered Behavior Technician and make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students near Bridgeport, CT. This opportunity offers a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule, with 32-37.5 hours per week to finish out the school year. You'll have the chance to help a student with autism who is experiencing challenging behaviors, so your expertise truly matters. The current Registered Behavior Technician is departing on June 1st, and your skills are urgently needed to provide stability and continuity for the remainder of the school year. There is a potential for extended school year (ESY) work, pending confirmation by the director.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification Successful track record in school settings, preferably with students exhibiting significant behavioral needs Specialized knowledge of trauma-informed care, with proven ability to support students who have experienced trauma Experience in managing behaviors such as elopement and inappropriate touching Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school teams and family members Committed to ethical practices and ongoing professional developmentResponsibilities:
Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a middle school student with autism Implement individualized behavior intervention plans with consistency and compassion Utilize trauma-informed strategies to address challenging behaviors Collect data, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions as necessary Engage in daily collaboration with educators, related service providers, and caregivers Support a positive and safe environment for student growth If you're passionate about making a difference in young lives and have the expertise to help students with unique behavioral needs, this contract position offers a fantastic opportunity. to create meaningful change for this student and provide much-needed continuity as the year wraps up!
