Job Description
East Coast Cannabis is seeking an experienced Extraction Lab Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations and support a team in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes while maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and a passion for team development and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Supervise, mentor, and support lab staff to foster a positive and safety-focused work environment Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members Provide performance feedback and day-to-day guidance Lab Operations & Production Oversee daily lab activities, including extraction, refinement, testing, and quality control Support production goals, deadlines, and performance targets Assist with hands-on lab work as needed to ensure smooth operations Compliance & Documentation Maintain compliance with state regulations and internal operational standards Ensure accurate documentation of all lab activities and inventory Support adherence to required tracking systems and reporting protocols Inventory & Equipment Management Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and lab supplies; communicate needs proactively Ensure proper maintenance of lab equipment, including logging and reporting repair needs Safety & Continuous Improvement Promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality Ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements Required Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written High attention to detail, particularly in compliance-driven environments Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Professionalism, integrity, and discretion Positive, team-oriented mindset Experience with regulated inventory tracking systems (e.g., METRC or similar) Understanding of workplace safety and hazard prevention practices Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree or higher preferred Experience with hydrocarbon extraction, distillation, and related processing methods Familiarity with closed-loop systems and solvent recovery systems Ability to obtain and maintain required state credentials Work Environment Manufacturing/lab setting with exposure to varying temperatures, equipment noise, and production materials Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Ability to work in close-quarters environments Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day Salary $28 USD per hour Required Skills Prior Laboratory experience.
