Job Description

Fabrication Specialist / Machinist Rochester, IN 46975 Full-time Full-time As a Fabrication Specialist / Machinist at Ad-Vance Magnetics, you will play a versatile role in our specialized production process. We are a premier sheet metal shop with integrated machining capabilities, specializing in high-precision fabrication from exotic alloys . Working in our fully air-conditioned facility , your typical day will include:
Precision Fabrication:
Setting up and operating Press Brakes and Slip Rolls to form custom components from specialized materials to exacting standards.
Machining Support:
Setting up and operating machining centers, specifically utilizing the Haas CNC controller , to support fabrication projects or create specialized tooling.
Complex Forming:
Executing secondary operations such as metal spinning and spot welding on unique, high-performance alloys.
Print Interpretation:
Reading and following complex engineering drawings with a solid grasp of GD&T .
Quality Control:
Verifying part accuracy using precision metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges) to maintain our rigorous quality standards.
Process Improvement:
Identifying ways to refine fabrication and machining workflows for better efficiency and material yield. Requirements We are looking for a versatile craftsman who enjoys the variety of a multi-process shop and can pivot easily between different types of metalwork.
Fabrication Expert:
Strong background in sheet metal work, specifically with Press Brake operation and Slip Rolls .
Machining Skills:
Competent in the setup and operation of machining equipment with specific experience using Haas CNC controllers .
Blueprint Reading:
Mastery of engineering prints and a working knowledge of GD&T .
High Precision:
Skilled in the use of micrometers, calipers, and height gauges for tight-tolerance work on expensive materials.
Self-Starter:
A motivated individual who can manage multiple tasks and maintain organization in a dynamic shop environment.
Safety & Communication:
Commitment to a safe workspace and proficiency in spoken and written English.
Tools:
Must possess or be willing to acquire standard hand tools required for the role.
