The Fabrication Specialist is responsible for on-site fabrication of fixtures and test set-ups; providing assistance and advice to the engineering team; and evaluation and repair of mechanical and elctro-mechanical equipment using a combination of internal and external resources.

Shift/Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

What you'll do: Machining per provided prints of mechanical test assemblies. Assembly and verification of mechanical test assemblies. Welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Overseeing and advising others on the use of shop resources. Advising the mechanical design team and other engineering staff with emphasis on optimizing designs to be efficiently fabricated. Maintenance and repair of shop equipment and lab equipment as needed. Other duties as needed. This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. 5+ years related experience including extensive welding, milling, lathe work, equipment design repair and maintenance. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities. Excellent customer service skills Good communication skills, in both verbal and written formats Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook Model Intertek's 10X Energies at all times within the work place, practicing business the right way Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties Must be customer focused and quality driven Have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
