This role will also require understanding equipment requirements to suggest design improvements and utilize resources in the most efficient manner possible. This person will work with engineers from other cross functional groups to allocate work to the technicians under their supervision and provide optimal solutions. Promote positive attitudes and workspace. What You'll Do Clearly define expectations for the fabrication technician team and improve overall quality and workmanship Focus on streamlining the project management process for team efficiency and overall effectiveness Curating the documentation coming from the various engineering departments into the team Overall HR related supervision including approving timecards, PTO, and managing schedules Work towards identifying best practices and process steps, while working with other departments on updating and maintaining standards for all fabrication processes and areas Maintain areas, equipment, and tools in proper order and adhere to maintenance schedules Complete requested activities as assigned and offer alternative solutions that use Dev area resources (manual machining, welding, 3D printing, etc.) most effectively What You'll Bring 2 years of college/technical school or equivalent work experience, Gigafactory experience strongly preferred 2-4 years of supervisory experience 2-4 years fabrication experience, Welding certs preferred Experience selecting and developing new team members Effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization Capable of providing constructive feedback to subordinates Able to wear all required PPE associated with required tasks including repetitive lifts and climbing stairs/ladder Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $108,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
