The Maintenance Fabrication Coordinator is a member of the Maintenance Team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Fabrication Coordinator's primary purpose is to design, layout, and install new piping systems, while also coordinating and executing fabrication projects to ensure they meet production goals and stay within budget constraints. These responsibilities are in addition to repairing and installing production machinery and mechanical equipment. This pivotal role also involves planning and executing repairs, preventive maintenance, fabricating components to ensure the effective, efficient, and safe operation of machinery and processes within the industrial plant.Key Responsibilities:
Design, layout, fabricate and install process and utility piping systems. Operate hoists, cranes, riggings, material handling equipment/trucks to transport and position equipment. Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations. Inspect and monitor machines, process and steam piping regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate. Perform troubleshooting for production machinery, resulting in successful repair and determination of root cause. Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, basic electrical and hydraulic; identifying and replacing worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions. Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery. Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment. Perform lockout-tag out procedures. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Coordinate fabrication projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with production goals, budget constraints, and deadlines established by management. Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications with production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for materials and components Support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes Schedule fabrication activities and allocate resources efficiently to meet project timelines and operational priorities. Other duties as directed or required.Required Qualifications:
Have a strong fundamental understanding of layout, fabrication, mechanical, hydraulic and circulating systems operation, contamination control and maintenance functions. Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience.Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in MIG, STICK, and TIG welding processes with emphasis in stainless-steel sanitary tube and pipe as well as low pressure steam pipe. Proficient with oxyacetylene and plasma cutting equipment. Experience with layout and installation of threaded and welded piping. Demonstrated initiative and strong work habits. Knowledge of lubrication applications, operating principles and best practices. Ability to safety use hand and power tools. Ability to maintain composure during emergencies Capability to read technical documents, such as: OEM Maint. plans, Blue prints and Software system instructions. Capability to perform basic mathematical functions. Capability to operate software-based programs for receiving, performing, and completing Work Orders. Ability to be qualified to operate lifting equipment (Fork Truck, Ariel lift, Etc.) Knowledge of bearings, gears, greases, seals, vents, breathers, filtration and power transmissions components.Working Conditions:
Able to work in all weather conditions. Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights up to 80ft Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to read/write English. Must be able to clearly communicate to co-workers and management.Food Safety Policy:
