Position Summary:

The Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of facility systems and support equipment to help ensure reliable facility uptime and safe manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on support for repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and general facility upkeep within a manufacturing environment. The technician should have working knowledge of facility systems and equipment that support manufacturing operations, including mechanical and plumbing systems, low-voltage and line-voltage electrical systems, HVAC systems, clean air filtration systems, building fixtures, offices, door hardware, and fire and life safety equipment. Familiarity with Federal, State, and City building compliance and environmental safety requirements is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facility systems and manufacturing support equipment.
• Support operation and maintenance of: o Air Compressors (CDA) o Vacuum Pumps o Process Gases (Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon) o HVAC systems o Clean air filtration systems
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on major facility and manufacturing support equipment to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Replace pre-filters and HEPA filters as needed and assist with maintaining environmental standards for particle counts and humidity control.
• Maintain clean and safe work environments, including upkeep of floors, carpets, walls, windows, doors, and facility fixtures.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains and maintaining plumbing systems.
• Assist with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs related to supported equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and respond to facility maintenance issues and emergencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and preventive maintenance documentation.
• Assist with scheduling preventive maintenance activities and coordinating service contracts.
• Support budget tracking and cost estimation for maintenance-related projects and repairs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Certification or technical training in electrical, mechanical engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a part-time capacity.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively under pressure.
