Job Description

Pleasant Hills Church (PHC) appreciates all of our staff who desire to serve the needs of the various ministry groups of our church. PHC is presently looking for an addition to our facilities team to serve as our principal Sunday Morning Custodian. The custodian is expected open our campus on a Sunday morning, ensure the building is ready for the morning s Worship Activities. Other responsibilities include occasional setup/teardown for special events, at the request of the Director of Operations or Facilities Manager. There will be additional seasonal responsibilities such as clearing walkways during the fall and snow removal during the winter. There will be occasional work when events during the weekend. This is a part time position requiring approximately 6.5 hours on a Sunday morning along with additional afternoon or evening hours throughout the week. Total hours per week is negotible up to 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming Ability to arrange facilities as needed for scheduled activities and special events, e.g., setup and teardown of tables and chairs, requiring lifting up to 50 lbs. Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies Empty trash and recycling bins Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and break rooms Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Experience:
Previous experience in facilities maintenance or custodial work is preferred Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation is a plus Ability to operate buffing machines and other floor care equipment is desirable Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness Good time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
