Summary:
Facility & Wastewater Manager Role Overview You will lead the daily operations, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of our physical infrastructure and on-site wastewater treatment systems. This role is vital for ensuring a safe work environment while minimizing our ecological footprint through advanced resource conservation and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities Wastewater & Environmental Operations System Oversight:
Manage the daily operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants to ensure clean, safe effluent discharge.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all facilities and wastewater divisions adhere to regional, state, and federal laws, including the monitoring of discharge permits.
Resource Recovery:
Champion programs for resource conservation, such as reclaiming wastewater for non-potable use like irrigation.
Waste Management:
Oversee the strategic processing and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, focusing on recycling and waste reduction.
Facility Management & Infrastructure Operations & Upkeep:
Direct the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and essential systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to maximize equipment lifespan and efficiency.
Sustainability Planning:
Lead initiatives for energy efficiency, such as upgrading to LED lighting, optimizing HVAC performance, and integrating renewable energy sources.
Budget & Contracts:
Develop and manage annual operations and capital improvement budgets; negotiate and oversee eco-friendly vendor contracts.
Emergency Preparedness:
Implement and maintain robust safety protocols, spill response plans, and business continuity strategies.
Strategic Leadership Team Management:
Supervise and train a multidisciplinary team of operators and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety and growth.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with engineers, regulatory agencies, and internal departments to align facility operations with broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.
Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience Degree:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sustainability , Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in facility management or industrial wastewater operations.
Certification:
Relevant wastewater operator licensure (e.g., Grade II or higher) and certifications like FMP (Facility Management Professional) or LEED are highly preferred.
Core Competencies Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency in wastewater treatment processes, building automation systems (BAS), and CMMS software.
Analytical Problem-Solving:
Ability to evaluate complex system data to optimize resource efficiency and troubleshoot operational failures.
Regulatory Mastery:
Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental standards.
