Job Description

Are you passionate about walking alongside families, offering support during difficult seasons, and helping parents build stability and confidence? We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Family Advocate to work in the Jacksonville office providing advocacy and supportive services to families involved with DCFS or at risk of DCFS involvement. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, encouraging, and committed to helping families access the tools, resources, and support they need to move forward. Key Responsibilities The Family Advocate will: Assess client and family needs through a strengths-based, family-centered approach Provide advocacy and supportive services to families involved with DCFS or at risk of involvement Offer case management, parenting education, and life skills support Help families identify goals, overcome barriers, and connect with needed resources Provide mediation and support during challenging family situations Make referrals to community resources and assist families in accessing services Coordinate services for families impacted by trauma, violence, crisis, and major life changes Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients, team members, and community partners Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and able to build positive relationships with families from a variety of backgrounds. This person should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and supporting families through a holistic approach that considers the needs of the entire family. Needed Skills Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify needs and implement solutions Ability to coordinate services for individuals and families impacted by trauma, violence, child welfare involvement, and life transitions Understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and family-centered services Requirements Bachelor's degree required Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation required Experience in child welfare, case management, family advocacy, or parenting education preferred Why This Role Matters This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
