Job Title Family Services Assistance Support Specialist Department Family Services Reports Family Services Coordinator to Level/Grade Type of position: Hours________ /week Full-time Part-time Nonexempt Intern Contractor Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides support to the IDHS and Child Care Assistance Program, staff, parents, and child care providers ensuring appropriate documentation is complete and meets all IDHS requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
− Inspect and verify all child care assistance documentation is complete and accurate. Taking initiative to obtain additional or missing information. − Enter data into agency's computer tracking system. − Maintains accurate client and provider files through manual and computer system through documents in case notes and daily filing. − Copies and distributes all necessary blank forms to requestors and assists parents/providers with the completing and accuracy of these forms. − Counsels parents, providers, and others on IDHS Child Care Subsidy policies, procedures, and case specifics either by telephone, e-mail, or in-person, as requested. − Maintains working knowledge of all CCR&R programs and IDHS policies and procedures. − Advises parents, providers, and the community on CCR&R Child Care Assistance programs. − Other duties as assigned. − Participate and attend Child Care Resource & Referral's fund raising and advocacy events.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
− Paperwork is processed accurately and in a timely manner. − A high level of intuitive in obtaining additional information − Low level of data entry errors − High degree client/provider satisfaction with CCR&R programs and services. − Strong working knowledge, understanding and support of CCR&R and IDHS mission, policy and procedures. − Maintains strong professional relationships with all CCR&R departments. − Provides quality customer service regarding child care assistance program to a diverse population through telephone and in person.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
− High School Diploma or GED − Experience in customer or volunteering services − Must be detailed oriented and organized − Demonstrated computer experience and/or data entry. − Ability to adapt to change in policies in a positive manner − Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from various educational, social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. − May be required to carry, life, or move equipment, materials, or supplies weighing up to 40 lbs.
