  • 20 hours per week Part-time, variable hours Montcalm Care Network is looking to hire a Family Support Assistant.
Join an innovative workforce dedicated to the provision of evidence based, integrated mental health care. MCN serves persons with mental illness and developmental disabilities with an emphasis on trauma informed care and co-occurring substance use treatment. The Family Support Assistant (FSA) provides support services to children with serious emotional disturbances and/or developmental disabilities and their families who are receiving an intensive community-based service. Assists children in the development of skills to promote age-appropriate independence and pro-social behaviors, as well as promoting community inclusion. Attends to the health and safety needs of the family. Assists parents in the development of consistent strategies and routines to address needs and behaviors identified in the family centered plan. Promotes mental health recovery, wellness, and full participation within the community for consumers in a manner where practice is trauma informed, co-occurring capable, person/family centered and integrated with other health care providers. This is an hourly position where evenings are required, some weekends and/or occasional holiday availability required. The 20-hour position has no guarantee of hours. Student Loan Repayment:
MCN is an approved National Health Service site (NHSC, a loan repayment program); in addition to Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), and MDHHS Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program (BHLRP). MCN offers additional tuition reimbursement of up to $5,250 per year.
Employment Qualifications Education:
Possession of a high school diploma
Experience:
One year working with children with serious emotional disturbances or developmental disabilities
Other Requirements:
Must be supervised by a qualified mental health (QMHP) or children's mental health professional (CMHP). Possession of a valid State of Michigan driver's license and a chauffeur's license (obtain within 30 days of hire).

$19.99 to $28.31 per hour depending on experience. This employer participates in E-Verify. As part of the hiring process, we will verify the employment eligibility of all new hires through the E-Verify system in accordance with federal and state law.
