Position Function:
To operate farm equipment to cultivate land, plant and harvest crops, apply pesticides and other farm related duties. Assist the Farm Supervisor and Farm Manager in supporting research operations at the Delta Research and Extension Center. Operate all types of farm equipment to conduct field operations involved in supporting agricultural research on cotton, corn, wheat, soybeans, and rice.

This position is located at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, MS, an off campus site of
Mississippi State University Anticipated Appointment Date:
June 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct field activities such as spraying, weighing, measuring, counting, handling soil, planting, and growing plants under standard operating procedures. 2. Prepares land for planting crops. 3. Assists in field operations such as hand hoeing, field maintenance, inventory, and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Performs general cleanup of equipment and facilities as requested. 4. Handle, mix, and apply pesticides in fields to ensure standard operating procedures are followed. 5. Marks, measures, and lays out crop fields for planting. 6. Operate equipment including cotton picker, combine, and tractor using various farm implements. 7. Perform other duties necessary as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma and six months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified AND six months of general experience or Any equivalent education and/or experience will be considered. 1. Valid driver's license. 2. Must obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicators Certificate within 90 days of employment or complete the worker/handler training, whichever is applicable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate farm equipment. Ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of farm operations. Working Conditions and Physical Effort 1. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. 2.
