Farm Laborer

Farm Laborer at Brown Farms in Orofino, Idaho, United States Job Description During the summer, we tend to work longer hours. It's our busiest time of the year. In June-July, we start hay season and cleaning grain bins. From August-September, we're harvesting our crops and either hauling to town or putting into storage. Around October-November, we're burning fields and fall crop seeding. Winters are a little slow. It includes working in the shop doing repairs and maintenance on the farm machinery and equipment. Doing odd jobs here and there like cleaning up and organizing around the shop, and putting everything away for winter. In the Spring, it starts to pick up again. The cows start calving March-April, so it's important to keep an eye on them all and make sure they're taken care of. Around May is when we start seeding for Spring crop and fertilizing. There will be things to do like picking up rocks in the fields, helping with filling the Fertilizer spreader, and truck maintenance, With the cattle, it's miscellaneous jobs like fixing fence, and feeding all year round.
