Farm Mechanic 1239 Route 113, Perkasie, PA 18944 $25.02 - $30.02 an hour - Part-time $25.02 - $30.02 an hour - Part-time About Us Tussock Sedge Farm LLC is a family owned pasture based livestock farm in Perkasie, PA. Operating on over 600 acres, our goal is to grow the highest quality, most nutrient dense pasture raised food that nourishes and heals our local community while enhancing the surrounding ecosystem. Our herd of 300 grass-fed cattle forms the basis of our operation.

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Farm Mechanic and become the backbone of our agricultural operations! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of farm machinery and heavy equipment to ensure smooth and efficient farm operations. Your expertise will keep our equipment running at peak performance, supporting productivity and safety across the farm. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a hands-on environment dedicated to sustainable agriculture and innovation. This position provides a great deal of flexibility. Total hours will vary based on your schedule: some weeks could be more, some less, etc. Daytime, evening, and/or weekend hours are all options, as this role will be extremely independent. Responsibilities Perform all standard repairs, general diagnostic work, and preventative maintenance on farm machinery, including tractors, light duty trucks, small trailers, medium duty trucks, hay equipment, planting equipment, small machinery (atv/utv/etc.), mowers, power tools, and more. Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment including all fluids and filters: oil, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, etc. along with preventative greasing of all equipment Welding skills are a plus Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Keep detailed maintenance records and service logs; assist with preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems Manage filter and parts inventory Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area; keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs The employee will be a part of the farm team, if there is interest in doing farm tasks outside of the shop work, the option is available Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a background in farm machinery or automotive repair. Welding and soldering skills would be valued Comfortable working with power tools and hand tools. Ability to troubleshoot effectively. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of heavy lifting safely when needed. High school diploma or equivalent required, Vocational/Technical or certification preferred, Certification in Automotive Technology, heavy equipment repair, diesel technology or equivalent experience Positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Goal-oriented, organized team player Self-motivated and self-directed Accurate and precise attention to detail A valid driver's license is required Customer service skills are valuable for communicating effectively with team members and supporting operational needs -- we value your skills and dedication!
