Plant It Hawaii is a family-run nursery operating on the Big Island since 1979. We specialize in the propagation of healthy, quality fruit trees for the state of Hawaii and are the sister business to Hula Brothers, a tropical fruit farm producing rambutan, lychee, and longan for wholesale distribution across the United States. We're a small, hardworking team and take pride in what we grow.

THE ROLE

We are hiring for Farm Team Members. We need people who thrive in physical, outdoor work as well as people with a hands-on interest in plant care. Best fit for individuals who are physically strong, energetic, and comfortable working long hours outdoors in all conditions, and for individuals with an interest in plants, propagation, and hands-on horticultural work. Field & Harvest Labor Harvesting lychee, longan, and rambutan in the field Ladder work, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day Fruit prep, grading, sorting, and packing in the pack house Assisting on the pack line in a fast-paced production environment Cleaning and sanitizing of pack line and pack house Nursery & Plant Care General plant care: weeding, trimming, staking, and fertilizing Transplanting and up-potting trees Propagation work: cleaning and planting seed, starting cuttings, grafting Filling pots and preparing growing media Pulling and organizing trees for outgoing orders Maintaining nursery organization and cleanliness Equipment operation and maintenance a plus

REQUIREMENTS

Reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned tasks independently Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a small team Able to work outdoors in heat, rain, and varying conditions Weekday and weekend availability required — weekend work is especially important during lychee harvest season Willing and able to comply with all farm rules, food safety, and agricultural guidelines Agriculture experience or a genuine interest in farming

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

Full-time, part-time, and short-term seasonal positions available Hours generally 7:00am - 3:30pm, with occasional earlier start times during harvest Pay starts at $17/hour and up, depending on experience Health insurance provided in accordance with Hawaii state law
