Interested applicants should report to any State Workforce Agency (SWA) career center for help in contacting the employer. Referral by a career center provides program guarantees and protections that may not be available to a worker not referred. Workers must have valid identification for I-9 preparation when they report to the employer location to begin work. The employer may use the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services E-Verify Program to verify employment eligibility. C. Workers referred to this job by a SWA should report to a career center between 5 and 9 work days before the job start date to verify the job start date is the same. Failure to do so may disqualify the worker from the assurances of this Job Order. Worksites are located in Hendry, Charlotte, and Collier Counties. Housing is located in Immokalee, FL (Collier County) and Labelle, FL (Hendry County). D.Job Offer:
140 Farmworkers and Laborers Watermelon-Duties may vary from time-to-time. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Perform manual labor. Workers will harvest, cultivate, cut, pick, and field pack watermelons in the field. Duties include cleaning, loading, and unloading harvested products. Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Measure, weigh and count products and materials. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Workers must perform manual labor to pull plastic from the field and load onto a trailer. Removal of irrigation equipment. Clean and maintain work area and all tools and containers.Vegetables:
Workers will harvest vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers, cantaloupe, and cucumber, as well as other vegetables and fruits. Shovel, haul, spread manure, dig holes, ditches, and trenches. Manually plant, cultivate, harvest, count, load and unload vegetables, horticultural specialties, and field crops. Workers will field pick and pack vegetables in the field. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include, applying fertilizers, transplanting, pulling weeds, raking, cleaning around shed area, thinning or pruning crops, cleaning, grading, and packing harvested product. Workers will also do staking, tying, loading, removing, and unloading of stakes. May do minor repairs to fences and farm buildings and participate in irrigation activities. Apply water to plants as scheduled, apply fertilizer to plants as scheduled, mix and apply chemical spray materials as instructed. Change warning signs when needed. Monitor greenhouses and plants for presence of pests and diseases. Report this information to the Supervisor. Keep greenhouses and the areas around the outside free from weeds and pests by mowing and hand pulling weeds and applying pest control products as instructed. Keep numbered and tagged orders arranged neatly within the greenhouse at all times. Duties will also include operating forklift, assisting with minor repairs and maintenance, and pulling weeds.Pay:

35 hours per weekDays/Hours:
Monday thru Friday 6 hours per day and Saturday 5 hours. Work may be offered but not required on Sundays and holidays. Extra work hours may be offered based on weather and other conditions. F. Employer will refund workers living outside commuting distance the reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to report for the first day of work on the 50% date. Will provide workers who complete the contract period the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence to return to place of recruitment or to report to the next H-2A job. G. Housing and Board.Housing:
Will provide free housing for workers who arrive from outside daily commuting distance. Family housing is not available. Meals (Board): The employer will provide housing with a free, convenient, and fully equipped kitchen facilities with refrigerator, stove, pots, pans, utensils and counter space for cooking, that will enable the workers to prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities will include dishwashing facilities with adequate sinks that have hot and cold water under pressure that are in working conditions to sufficiently prepare three (3) meals a day. Employer will also provide free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city to buy food, banking services, and other necessaries. Transportation will be in an approved bus/van/car/truck at no cost to workers. Housing meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. Rules regarding living accommodations will be found in the Clearance Order. Transportation provided by the employer meets the requirements of Federal, State and Local regulations. H. Prohibition against preferential treatment of aliens: The employer's job offer must offer to U.S. workers no less than the same benefits, wages, and working conditions that the employer is offering, intends to offer, or will provide to H-2A workers. Job offers may not impose on U.S. workers any restrictions or obligations that will not be imposed on the employer's H-2A workers. This does not relieve the employer from providing to H-2A workers at least the same level of minimum benefits, wages, and working conditions which must be offered to U.S. workers. I.
