85 farmworkers are needed in Missaukee, Manistee, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Wexford, Benzie, Osceola, Antrim, Kalkaska, and Mason Counties, Michigan, to plant, cultivate, and harvest a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nursery products, including apples, cherries, peaches, strawberries, pumpkins, asparagus, tomatoes, grapes, peppers, and Christmas trees. Duties include planting, pruning, thinning, irrigating, weeding, harvesting crops to quality standards, operating farm equipment, performing orchard and field maintenance, and assisting with packing and transporting produce. Workers may also perform mechanical cherry harvesting, Christmas tree care and harvesting, and general farm upkeep. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs., with occasional team lifting of heavier items. Applicants must have at least 2 months of experience in hand harvesting and be able to work efficiently while following food safety and quality standards. Earned Sick Time Requirement:

In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business. Housing:

The employer provides housing at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return to their residence at the end of the workday. Separate sleeping quarters and bathroom facilities are designated for male and female workers; family housing is not available.
