The Opportunity:
The Folder Gluer Packer is responsible for loading, catching, and packing cartons on the folder gluer machine while maintaining established quality and safety standards. This role supports efficient production by ensuring materials are properly prepared, packed, inspected, and documented. A typical day includes setting up the packing station, inspecting carton quality, coordinating materials, completing quality documentation, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. How you will impact
Smurfit Westrock:
Load and feed cartons into the folder gluer feed station to support continuous production. Prepare and place accurate job ticket labels at the packing station for each pack-out. Coordinate with gluer operators to obtain correct corrugated materials from the warehouse. Set up packing and tape equipment to match carton size and specifications. Pack cartons according to job ticket quantities and customer requirements. Inspect cartons for quality attributes including color, registration, gluing, skewing, and overall appearance, and communicate any issues. Pull required flat and glued samples, properly label them, and route them to the sample bin. Perform line clearance, remove scrap, complete documentation, and ensure all materials are properly disposed of or stored. Complete all ISO forms and quality checks accurately and on time. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety rules.
What you need to succeed:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic reading proficiency and arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through testing or prior experience. Ability to pass color vision and color hue tests. Basic personal computer skills. Strong attendance and reliability. Willingness to work overtime as required, including significant overtime during peak periods. Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
