General Manager / Owner Job Summary The Feedyard Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a cattle feedyard to ensure cattle health, efficiency, safety, and profitability. This role involves managing people, cattle, feed, facilities, and compliance while operating in varying weather conditions typical of the Texas Panhandle. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily cattle care, feeding, and handling operations Monitor cattle health and coordinate treatment with veterinary staff Manage feed delivery, bunk management, and ration compliance Supervise, train, and schedule feedyard employees Maintain accurate records for cattle inventory, health, feed, and performance Ensure compliance with animal welfare, environmental, and safety regulations Coordinate maintenance of pens, equipment, and facilities Manage costs, control losses, and support budget goals Communicate regularly with ownership, nutritionists, veterinarians, and suppliers Promote a strong safety culture and clean, orderly feedyard operations Required Qualifications Leadership experience working in cattle feedyard or feedlot operations Knowledge of cattle health, nutrition, and handling practices Supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work necessary hours and weekends Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in the elements as necessary Ability to walk pens or ATV operation as necessary Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds Extended hours during high‑volume or critical periods Preferred Traits Strong work ethic and attention to detail Calm decision‑making under pressure Respectful leadership style Commitment to cattle welfare and operational efficiency Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Performance based incentives Benefits package available (401k match, health insurance, paid time off, etc.) Contact Please submit a resume to David Huseman Texas Beef Group huseman@tbp.com
