Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Fiber Technician and be at the forefront of building and maintaining cutting-edge telecommunication networks. In this energetic role, you will install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic systems, ensuring seamless connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Your expertise will help bridge the digital divide, delivering reliable high-speed internet and communication services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced technology, heavy equipment, and skilled teams to create robust network infrastructure that powers modern life. Duties Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and related telecommunication infrastructure using precise fiber splicing techniques. Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, power tools, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently to access installation sites. Conduct cabling and wiring for fiber optic systems, LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, telephony, and IT infrastructure components following schematics and technical diagrams. Climb poles or towers using climbing gear to install or repair overhead fiber lines while adhering to safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance on network infrastructure including low voltage electrical systems and WAN (Wide Area Network) connections. Use hand tools and power tools to complete construction tasks related to fiber deployment in various environments. Collaborate with team members to interpret schematics, plan installation routes, and ensure compliance with industry standards for telecommunication systems. Skills Proven experience in field service roles within telecommunication or construction industries. Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and testing equipment for optical fibers. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely in diverse environments. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and low voltage electrical systems. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for cabling, electrical work, and construction tasks. Understanding of schematics, technical diagrams, and network infrastructure layouts. Capable of climbing poles or towers safely while maintaining balance and adhering to safety standards. Electrical experience with low voltage systems, telephony wiring, and IT infrastructure installation. Pay:
$25.76 - $35.00 per hour
