We are actively hiring a highly skilled A‑level Field Service Mechanic / Resident Technician to support operations at the Nucor Gallatin steel facility . This is a critical, production-facing role where your expertise directly impacts uptime and performance. If you're the technician others rely on to solve the tough problems, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair high-capacity material handling equipment Perform advanced diagnostics across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Service and maintain forklifts, container handlers, and heavy industrial equipment Execute preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and increase reliability Act as a trusted technical expert onsite supporting daily operations Work independently while maintaining strong customer communication and service standards What We're Looking For (A‑Level Only) This is not an entry-level role - we are specifically seeking experienced, self-sufficient technicians. 5+ years as a heavy equipment mechanic or forklift technician Strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills Proven ability to perform complex diagnostics independently Experience with: High-capacity forklifts Container handlers Industrial material handling equipment Taylor equipment experience strongly preferred This role is ideal for a true A‑level technician who: Solves problems others can't Works independently with confidence Wants strong pay, stability, and a respected role onsite
