Job Title:
Field Service EngineerJob Description This Field Service Engineer role focuses on supporting water and waste-processing systems in a semiconductor environment. You will perform routine operations, maintenance, and commissioning activities, ensure equipment runs reliably and safely, and provide high-quality service and support to internal teams and external customers. The position combines hands-on technical work, data entry and documentation, and close collaboration with engineering, project management, and field sales teams. Responsibilities + Conduct routine facility rounds to verify equipment is operating correctly and identify potential issues early. + Load and unload chemicals safely and in accordance with established procedures. + Stage, change out, and maintain filtration systems to support continuous system performance. + Monitor system parameters and performance indicators to ensure stable and efficient operation. + Respond promptly to system alarms, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to support waste-processing operations. + Perform weekly and monthly safety inspections and address any findings in a timely manner. + Collect water samples from multiple facility locations and test or analyze water quality. + Install and replace consumable parts as scheduled or as needed to maintain system reliability. + Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation for all work performed. + Keep work areas clean and organized, including hosing down surfaces and removing trash or leak pads. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. + Enter operational data into computer systems to generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports. + Record readings from facility rounds and compile them into spreadsheets for tracking and analysis. + Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and sub-assemblies following established guidelines. + Review blueprints, plans, and specifications to prepare for system startup or service activities. + Build strong, solution-oriented relationships with customers, sales representatives, and suppliers through professional communication and support both on-site and remotely. + Collaborate with engineering, project management, production, field sales, and management teams to resolve technical issues. + Complete service reports, repair records, warranty documentation, and maintenance logs within required timeframes. + Properly document, label, process, and return defective parts from service or commissioning work. + Interface with customers as needed to support operations and service activities and ensure their needs are met. + Organize and maintain parts storage areas and warehouse inventory to support efficient field and facility operations. + Continuously seek improvements in efficiency, cost, and workflow and share recommendations with the team. + Provide feedback to management regarding operational or business conditions that may impact performance or customer satisfaction. + Support special projects and other duties assigned by supervisors as needed. + Uphold high ethical standards and follow all company policies and procedures. + Report irregular issues or problems to supervisors promptly and clearly. + Maintain strong communication with supervisors, office staff, and external contacts to ensure coordinated operations. + Be available to cover shifts with appropriate notice to support continuous operations. Essential Skills + Prior experience performing field service installations and commissioning activities. + Experience with electrical wiring in a field service or commissioning environment. + Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, plans, and specifications. + Experience with HVAC installation or related mechanical systems. + Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment, systems, and sub-assemblies. + Ability to safely handle, load, and unload chemicals following established procedures. + Competence in collecting and analyzing water samples for quality assessment. + Proficiency in entering operational data into computer systems and generating reports. + Ability to accurately record readings and compile data into spreadsheets. + Strong documentation skills for service reports, maintenance logs, repair records, and warranty documentation. + Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, internal teams, and suppliers. + Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. + Capability to follow established guidelines, safety procedures, and company policies. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of ultrapure water or water technology is a plus. + OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred. + Experience working in or supporting semiconductor facilities is beneficial. + Ability to build solution-oriented relationships with customers and stakeholders. + Strong organizational skills for managing parts storage, warehouse inventory, and documentation. + Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency, cost, and workflow enhancements. Work Environment This role primarily supports semiconductor sites, with work mainly performed on-site in the Boise area. The position involves approximately 11% travel, including visits to semiconductor facilities and related locations. You will work in an industrial environment around water and waste-processing systems, filtration equipment, and chemical handling operations. The role requires regular facility rounds, time spent in mechanical and utility spaces, and adherence to site-specific safety procedures. Work includes both hands-on equipment tasks and computer-based data entry and reporting. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, production, field sales, and office staff, and maintain clear communication with customers and external partners. Appropriate attire and personal protective equipment are required in operational areas to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
