Professional Job Summary This position works in tandem with Carhartt Korea office to identify new sources throughout assigned regions and manage the development, manufacture and delivery of all assigned production within the manufacturing base. This position has shared accountabilities of cost, quality, delivery and Social Compliance with Carhartt Korea and partner supply chain functions in Dearborn, MI and Irvine KY offices. Position will have responsibilities in the areas of production scheduling, raw material tracking and vendor management. Strong communications skills, understanding of the apparel manufacturing process and the ability to work with manufacturers located in multiple countries a must. Representative Responsibilities Communicate with suppliers to monitor production and quality and resolve any issues. Regular travel to assigned suppliers to review production plans and performance criteria. Collaborate with Production Planning and manufacturers to create and modify manufacturing plans (delivery schedules) to ensure delivery requirements. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of textiles and apparel manufacturing in assigned geographical areas of responsibility. Travel to these areas to evaluate the opportunities. Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned suppliers and their capabilities regarding new product, sewing capacity, textile networks and other potential opportunities. Responsible for communicating Supplier KPI's and provide coaching. Develop recovery plan for non-conforming suppliers and keep all parties within Carhartt informed. Assist in the utilization of a systematic approach to research and explore new regional opportunities that exist for sourcing such as suppliers in region, growth opportunities, etc. Monitor production delivery schedules and performance of assigned suppliers and provide feedback to appropriate US department and assigned factories to ensure timely delivery of Carhartt product. Proactively manage and own capacity plans for new suppliers and/or new programs. Communicate and partner with other operations groups as necessary to ensure success of vendors. Ensure that all necessary communications are being received from our suppliers such as RM Receipts, Cutting Tickets, WIP reports, etc. and work with suppliers that are not in conformance. Provide needed sample support and weekly status updates provided by suppliers. Manage and coordinate successful new vendor start-ups. Collaborate with Manager of Social Compliance to ensure Carhartt's interests are adhered to. Develop key working relationships with other Carhartt departments. Keep detailed knowledge of supplier network of assigned area. Required Education Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent years of experience. Required Skills & Experience 8 years of experience in global sourcing of apparel. Apparel manufacturing experience required. Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to travel internationally and over weekends as necessary. Knowledge of Carhartt product and strategic direction of the business and how to support a Sourcing supply chain Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Normal office environment. Extensive Global Travel Required (approximately 50% - 70%). This position has an On-Site location: Associate will work on-site for all work-related activities.
