Field Technician

Job description Blue Flame Crew is looking to fill an entry level position for Field Technician (tech). The tech will be responsible for the measuring and obtaining gas and water samples in the field(LFG) An Environmental Science degree is preferred but not required. This position requires the ability to work independently without direct supervision. The following is just some of responsibilities the position requires. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned and vary by location.

• Calibrate operate and maintain electronic data collection devices necessary to tune the wellfield.
• Collect, upload to site database and review data from each wellfield monitoring event.
• Develop basic understanding of environmental regulations related to LFG and liquids
• Follow job related and site-specific health and safety requirements and procedures. Below is a representative list of the qualifications necessary to perform the job

Education:

GED or High school diploma acceptable, College course work or degree in Environmental Science, a plus.

• Valid and unrestricted driver's license
• 18 years of age or greater Some highlights of the work environment are listed below.
• The job will require the tech to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, monitoring device use, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday
• On occasion, must be able to physically handle objects up to 60 pounds
• The job will require the tech to work outdoors approximately 80% of each workday, work involves exposure to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements.
• The job will require the tech to walk over steep and rough terrain for considerable distances daily
• The job will require the tech to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hardhat, safety boots, safety vest, personal multi-gas monitor, etc.
