Job Description:

Our NYC client is seeking a dependable and technically skilled Field Technician to support the installation, service, and integration of electronic security systems throughout commercial facilities in NYC. This role involves hands-on work with CCTV/video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, intercoms, and integrated building security platforms. OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot: IP and analog CCTV systems Access control systems Biometric readers and turnstiles Intrusion and alarm systems Low-voltage structured cabling Configure and commission electronic security devices and network-connected equipment Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and device layouts Perform field service, maintenance, and system upgrades at customer locations Support integrated security deployments for commercial high-rises and corporate facilities, Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, IT personnel, electricians, and subcontractors Ensure all work is completed in accordance with OSHA regulations, site safety standards, and company procedures Document installation progress, service activity, punch-list items, and as-built changes Maintain professional appearance, tools, and company equipment while representing the client on-site Qualifications 2+ years of experience in: Electronic security systems Low-voltage installation Security integration Field service or systems deployment Working knowledge of: CCTV/video surveillance systems Access control systems Card readers and door hardware Structured cabling standards Basic IP networking Ability to work independently in field environments Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 certification NYC SST card Experience with: Genetec Lenel Avigilon Honeywell Software House Bosch Experience in commercial construction or Class A office environments Lift certification or conduit experience Understanding of NEC and low-voltage code requirements
