Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Filler Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the filling equipment used to package juice and applesauce products. This role ensures that containers are filled accurately, sealed properly, and meet all quality and food safety standards. The operator helps maintain efficient production flow while minimizing downtime and product waste.RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Set up, operate, and monitor filling machines, cappers, case packers, and related line equipment. Ensure containers are filled to correct weights/volumes and meet specification standards. Verify correct packaging materials (cups, lids, bottles, pouches, labels, etc.) are in use. Perform line changeovers efficiently, including adjustments to filling heads, guides, and conveyors. Monitor machine performance and make minor mechanical adjustments to maintain proper function. Clear jams, restart equipment safely, and communicate issues immediately to the supervisor or maintenance. Conduct routine quality checks (weight checks, seal integrity, torque, vacuum, codes, etc.). Document production and quality checks accurately and in real time. Follow all GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements, including allergen control. Participate in line start-ups, shutdowns, and shift change communication. Assist in training new Filler Operators and general labor staff on the line. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred Work Experience Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, or machine operation preferred. Skills and Knowledge Ability to operate, monitor, and adjust production machinery. Ability to complete and understand production paperwork, line sheets, and SOPs. Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines. ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Manufacturing facility with exposure to wet environments, temperature fluctuations, and food ingredients. Stands, walks, uses hands/fingers to handle or feel, uses hands/arms to reach, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls while performing functions of position. Constant mental and visual alertness (including peripheral vision and depth perception) required to avoid serious injury to self and others and to perform quality functions of position. Lifts material/product weighing up to 50 pounds frequently (with assistance); lifts material/product weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally (with assistance). Must wear required PPE including hairnet, bump cap, eye/hearing protection, etc. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as required by production schedules.DISCLAIMER
